Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp honey you can also use maple syrup or preferred liquid sweetener of your choice such as sugar-free maple syrup, allulose etc. for a lower sugar / low carb option. Omit for Whole30 or use homemade date paste.
  • 3 tbsp coconut aminos. , you can also use gluten-free tamari or reduced sodium soy sauce if you're not gluten-free or soy-free.
  • 2 tbsp pure orange juice
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or coconut vinegar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Sriracha , or hot sauce of your choice. Feel free to omit if you're sensitive to spice.
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/4 pounds salmon or four 5-ounce salmon fillets
  • fresh chopped cilantro , or parsley, for garnish
  • toasted sesame seeds , for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or foil) for easier clean-up.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, coconut aminos, orange juice, vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, Sriracha, and pepper, to taste.
  3. Place the salmon fillet, skin side down, on top of the foil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste on both sides. Brush or spoon the glaze over the salmon and slip orange slices underneath. Fold sides of foil and wrap over the salmon
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Switch oven to broil and cook for another 5 minutes until salmon is slightly charred.
  5. Serve immediately and garnish with fresh herbs and sesame seeds, if desired.
