MANGO SALSA
KEY INGREDIENTS
Ripe Mango
Red Bell Pepper
Fresh Cilantro
Red Onion
Jalapeño
Minced Garlic
Fresh Lime Juice
Fine Sea Salt
Go by texture, not color. Ripe mangoes have a slight amount of give when squeezed.
SELECTING A RIPE MANGO
Smell. A sweet, fruity aroma from the stem is an indication that it's ripe.
In a medium bowl, combine mango, red pepper, onion, cilantro, jalapeño, garlic and lime juice.
FOR THE SALSA
Season with salt then chili powder & cumin if desired. Stir until well combined.
SEASON & STIR
Chill for 15 minutes or longer, then serve with sliced cucumbers, bell peppers, grain-free tortilla chips or plantain chips.
CHILL
Add Berries: Raspberries, strawberries, or any other berry you like.
VARIATIONS
Make Tropical Salsa: Diced pineapple would really kick this mango salsa recipe up a notch.
Add Toasted Coconut: Why not throw some crunchy toasted coconut into the mix? It goes great with the soft and juicy chunks of mango.
