HOW TO ROAST A TURKEY

How to Roast a Turkey – easy tips and tricks on how to make the perfect turkey for your family for Thanksgiving or any holiday gatherings.

KEY INGREDIENTS

- Whole Turkey - Fresh Sage Leaves - Fresh Thyme Sprigs - Fresh Rosemary Sprigs - Onions - Carrots - Celery - Lemon - Chicken Broth - Unsalted Butter - Garlic - Sea Salt - Black Pepper

OUTER TURKEY

Make the garlic herb butter by combining butter, rosemary, sage, thyme, parsley, garlic, salt, and black pepper.  Carefully loosen the skin from the turkey and gently rub half the butter under the skin. Tie legs together and tuck wings underneath the turkey.

INNER TURKEY

Place onions, celery, carrots, sage leaves, thyme sprigs, rosemary sprig, and lemon half inside the cavity of the turkey.  Pour chicken broth in the bottom of the roasting pan .

COOK

Cook for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 350° and continue to roast until meat reaches 180° and juice runs clear.  Baste with pan drippings and broth while bringing to temperature.

TENT

Loosely cover the turkey with foil the last 30 minutes of cooking, or if the turkey browns too quickly. Once turkey is done, remove from oven.  Strain and reserve pan juices for gravy, if desired, and discard vegetables.
