LOFTHOUSE STYLE FROSTED SUGAR COOKIES
Perfectly soft Lofthouse Style Frosted Sugar Cookies made from scratch with an easy frosting and full of pretty sprinkles! Best of all, they make a delicious treat to serve with a tall glass of milk.
- Butter - Sugar - Egg - Sour Cream - Pure Vanilla Extract - Pure Almond Extract - Flour - Powdered Sugar - Heavy Cream - Sprinkles
Beat the butter and sugar on medium-high until nice and fluffy. Add egg and beat until incorporated. Reduce speed to low and add sour cream and vanilla and beat until well-combined.
Sift the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt and whisk together. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until combined. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 375°. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll half the dough into balls and place on baking sheet, flattening with the back of a spoon. Bake on middle rack for 9-13 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely on pan. Repeat with remaining dough.
Once cookies have cooled completely, frost and add sprinkles if desired. Then slowly add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add heavy cream, then remaining powdered sugar until desired consistency and taste are achieved. Once cookies have cooled completely, frost and add sprinkles, if desired.
