Slow Cooker Almond Joy Candy – an easy 4 ingredient homemade version of the popular candy bars. Best of all, this recipe is made entirely in the crock-pot with almonds, coconut, semi-sweet chocolate and Almond Bark.
There’s just something about the chocolate, coconut and almond combo that is hard to resist.
The video shows how simple these are to make and I’ve already made this recipe three times in the last two months since I wanted to get ahead with my holiday treats (too early? eeks I know).
So if anyone needs extra Almond Joy candies, I have a freezer stocked full of them 🙂
But I just couldn’t wait until December to share these goodies with you guys so I’m posting the recipe here today to help brighten up a Monday.
These are seriously SUPER easy to make with just FOUR ingredients!
- Almonds (I like using roasted, whole – you can used sliced or chopped if you prefer)
- Shredded Coconut (I used unsweetened)
- Chocolate Chips (I used half semi-sweet and half dark chocolate)
- Almond Bark
That’s it! You just toss them into your slow cooker in the order they’re listed in and just set your slow cooker on low for 2-3 hours, or until the chocolate has melted (mine took 2 1/2 hours).
If you don’t have a slow cooker or would rather use the stovetop, just place a double boiler over the stove and heat the chocolate and almond bark together until melted. Then stir in the almonds and coconut.
Then using a small cookie scoop (packed tightly) or drop mixture by the spoonful (about 1 1/2 tablespoons) out onto a lined parchment paper.
To make them extra pretty, just top them with a whole almond in the center and sprinkle with more shredded coconut.
They make the perfect gift for friends or family around the holidays or anytime you need an easy sweet treat!
