Berry Fruit Salad is the perfect easy and healthy snack. Made with triple mixed berries and a refreshing lemon and honey glaze. Best of all, so easy to customize with your favorite fresh fruit.
It’s berry season and I couldn’t be more excited! Mixed berries of any kind are my absolute favorite.
Whenever I see a carton of perfectly ripe, sweet, juicy berries at the store, I can’t help but stock up. If you’ve got an overflowing fridge full of those sweet reds, purples and blues then a mixed fruit salad is just begging to be made.
This Mixed Berry Fruit Salad is seriously the easiest sweet treat ever. And it’s healthy and full of antioxidants.
For a paleo, Whole 30, and low carb friendly version, just leave out the sweetener.
Also, if you’ve got a garden full of fresh herbs, a very Berry Salad with mint is a great snack for summer. My kids are big fruit monsters and they love whenever I serve their berry salads with some yogurt or even cream cheese.
How do you make this Mixed Berry Fruit Salad:
- First, you’re going to wash and dry your mixed berries. Then place them all together in a large mixing bowl.
- I used a combination of sliced strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. You can also add some pomegranate seeds or cherries if you have them on hand. Some kiwi or mango would be great as well.
- Whisk together the honey (or maple syrup) (leave out for low carb and Whole 30) and freshly squeezed lime (lemon works too) juice and gently toss together with the fruit.
CAN I MAKE THIS STRAWBERRY BLUEBERRY FRUIT SALAD AHEAD OF TIME?
If you want to make this ahead, I suggest washing and drying all the strawberries, blueberries and blackberries thoroughly. Raspberries are much more delicate so I would wait until you’re ready to serve them before washing them. It’s also a great idea to store each of the berries in separate containers. I also like to chop the strawberries on the morning so they stay plump and juicy instead of soggy.
Next, I just whisk the glaze and store in an airtight container.
That’s it you guys! Just a few ingredients to make this yummy and fresh Mixed Berry Fruit Salad. It’s the best healthy treat to help you cool down on those hot summer days!
And it’s a must for any holiday long weekend barbecue or picnic. The red, white and blue make it just perfect for Memorial Day or the Fourth of July!
