It has added protein powder so it makes a great high protein snack that you can enjoy as a pre or post-workout snack or dessert. The best part is that it tastes just like pumpkin pie so you can also serve it as an appetizer or dessert at your next game day or Halloween party!

Ingredients you need
This protein pumpkin dip comes together in no time at all with just a few ingredients that you most likely have in your pantry!
For the fluffy dip
- Dairy-free thick Greek-style yogurt: We like Culina’s Plain & Simple coconut cream based yogurt or Kite Hill Plant-based Greek-style yogurt for an almond milk based yogurt. You can sub with canned coconut cream or regular Greek yogurt if not dairy-free.
- Cashew butter: to add creaminess, flavor and extra protein. You can also sub with almond butter, peanut butter (not paleo), sunflower seed butter or any nut butter of you choice.
- Pumpkin puree: be sure to use pure sugar free canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) or homemade pumpkin puree. Be sure not to use canned pumpkin pie filling though since it’s packed with other sweeteners and fillers.

- Maple syrup: or sub any sticky liquid sweetener of choice. Use Lakanto Sugar-free maple syrup, liquid monk fruit or stevia for low carb or keto. May also sub with coconut nectar syrup, date syrup or Yacon Syrup for paleo.
- Pure vanilla extract
- Vegan Protein Powder: We use NuZest Just Clean or Sprout Living Simple Sunflower Seed Protein which are our favorite plant-based protein powder but you can use your favorite. We have not tested this with a Whey protein powder since we wanted to keep this dip recipe vegan but feel free to do so if it fits with your dietary preference or use your favorite Collagen powder.
- Pumpkin pie spice – you can use your own homemade pumpkin pie spice blend or you can grab a jar from any grocery store.
Optional add-ins:
- Dairy-free mini chocolate chips + more for topping: we like Lily’s Sweets or Pascha’s Chocolate
- Chopped pecans + more for topping
How to make Pumpkin Dip
All you need is just 5 minutes to make this easy pumpkin pie dip!
- Combine the ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the nut butter, pumpkin puree, maple syrup and vanilla until smooth. Add the yogurt, pumpkin pie spice and protein powder and mix again until combined. Add more yogurt, nut butter, maple syrup or protein powder, as needed until desired taste / consistency is reached.
- Stir in the add-ins: Add the chocolate chips and top with extra chocolate chips and nuts.
- Serve and enjoy: Serve with a mix of fruit, grain-free graham crackers, pretzels or rice cakes of choice.
