Ingredients For This No-Bake Cheesecake
There are just a handful of easy ingredients that are needed for this simple dessert recipe!
- 18 Oreo cookies
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 1/2 cup of Nutella
- 1 cup of cream such as heavy whipping cream
- 4 ounces of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- Shaved chocolate, you will want a block of chocolate for this
How do I shave chocolate?
Shaving chocolate is actually super easy! With a vegetable peeler, carefully peel off slivers of chocolate from a thick chocolate bar. There you have it, tiny shavings of chocolate ready to coat the cheesecake.
Tips For Crushing Oreos
Have you ever crushed ice? Well, this is similar. To crush Oreo cookies, all you need is a pastry or Ziploc bag and something to bang the bag with.
Put the Oreos in a bag, and then seal them up. Afterwards, grab a kitchen mallet or something similar to hit the bag of Oreos. Pound the bag of Oreos until they are crumbled into crumbs. Make sure to crush any thick cookie pieces.
Instructions For No-Bake Cheesecake Pie
These instructions for this cheesecake recipe are incredibly simple and basically mess-free. Easy to follow with just a handful of basic ingredients, this pie will be a family favorite!
- Crush the Oreos and soften the cream cheese.
- In a medium bowl, use a fork to combine the Oreo crumbs and melted butter until moistened. Using a six-inch spring form pan, press the cookie crumbs into the bottom of the pan and about 1-inch up the sides. Place the cookie crust into the freezer to chill while the next steps take place.
- Using an electric mixer with a whisk attachment and medium-high speed, whip the heavy cream needed for both the Nutella and whipped cream filling. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form, and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Next, while using a hand mixer or stand mixer with the paddle attachment with medium speed, cream together the Nutella, softened cream cheese, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
- Reduce the speed to low and gradually add the powdered sugar. Fold in half of the whipped cream with a rubber spatula until incorporated. Put remaining half of whipped cream back in the refrigerator for the next layer.
- Add the cream cheese batter to the chilled Oreo crust while making sure to smooth out the top with a spatula. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes for the Nutella filling to firm up a bit.
- Next, transfer the other half of the whipped cream mixture to the pie. Smooth it out with a spatula.
- Refrigerate the pie until firm, at least 2-3 hours prior to serving. The best results will be from placing in the fridge overnight.
- Sprinkle with shaved chocolate and more Oreo cookie crumbs if desired.
Notes For This Recipe
- The cream cheese definitely needs to be softened for this recipe.
- Definitely smash the Oreo cookies in a closed bag.
- Refrigerating this pie overnight yields optimal results
- If no access the shaved chocolate, then chocolate chips will also work! We used milk chocolate.
